Freedom Watch 5/20

  1. Muir,

This is promising news and gives many I have spoken with hope.

If the local Republican central committees of Kentucky DO NOT get behind candidates like Dr. Rand Paul and others in the rapidly expanding freedom movement then many growing organizations will quickly "overthrow" the various and Sundry Republican locals.

So I wonder, will the Libertarians maintain their historic position of irrelevance? I am hopeful that to keep destructive forces within and without the party at bay, an alliance with the freedom movement might be considered.

It is time for change at the Republican national level, and perhaps the local.

    What say you?

  2. The Republican Party has much work to do as they moved away from their core principles. What we saw with the Republicans in power was more spending, bigger government, and more debt. Their style of governing was somewhat different than the Democrats but we ended up with the same result.

They simply cannot turn into the Party of "NO" like the Democrats acted under Bush, then get in without a plan. The damage done under Bush and now so much done under Obama will probably require a revolution to fix.

The Libertarian position has always been to maintain strict Constitutional positions which inherently offer more individual freedom and liberty. The pack mentality of security over liberty is currently the positions of the two major parties. This position I hope will always be relevant.
